COST PLANNING
Designing within budget is a challenge on most residential projects. Buildaid can address this by introducing cost planning and a Buildaid Bill of Resources (BoR) during the design process.
How it works
A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO DESIGNING AND BUILDING WITHIN BUDGET
STAGE 1
Preliminary BoR
Send us your preliminary drawings and project information and we will compile a preliminary Bill of Resources. Buildaid will determine quantities, specifications and prices where information is incomplete.
STAGE 2
Adjusting the BoR
You can then review specifications, quantities and prices and, in consultation with Buildaid, make any necessary changes to align costs with the building budget. The design can also be modified and the BoR reprocessed.
STAGE 3
Final BoR
A final Bill of Resources is compiled and presented to be used in the tendering and building process.
Who uses Buildaid Cost Planning
Architectural professionals are Buildaid’s primary focus because they create building projects. The service and BoR assists with designing within budget and creating a reliable specification. The service is also essential during the tendering process and the documents form a reliable base of information during construction. Building contractors, owner builders and property developers sometimes find themselves in a predicament with drawings containing little information and no cost calculations. The Buildaid BoR can help solve this problem.

How it works
How does the service work?
Stage 1 — Preliminary BoR
The architect or client sends preliminary drawings and project information to Buildaid.
Buildaid then prepares and presents a preliminary Bill of Resources, along with any quotations from suppliers.
Stage 2 — Adjusting the BoR
The architect can then review specifications, quantities and prices and, in consultation with Buildaid, make any necessary changes to align the BoR and specification with the building budget. If necessary, the design can be modified by the architect and Buildaid will reprocess the BoR accordingly.
Stage 3 — Final BoR
Once adjustments and changes have been made to the BoR, a final Bill of Resources is compiled and presented. To be used in tendering and building process.
Buildaid remains available for any advice or additional information required during the project
